Sidney Moorer Trial: MISTRIAL Declared

June 27, 2016

In a disappointing (for all parties, I’m sure) development in the Sidney Moorer Trial, the jury told the judge Friday that they were deadlocked, resulting in a mistrial. You can read my prior posts about this case HERE.

According to reports, the jury was deadlocked at 10 votes for Guilty and two votes for Not Guilty.

Here’s an interview one of the jurors gave to News 13:

In that juror’s opinion, the evidence just wasn’t enough to get a conviction.

The Prosecution is almost certainly going to go ahead with a retrial but no word on when that will be.

Sidney will be back in court in September however, to answer to a possible gag order violation, which the judge in the case said he had clearly violated after giving an interview to a local reporter during the trial.

Tammy Moorer will also be going on trial for the kidnapping, but the trial date has not been set yet.

I’ll post any updates here.
