There’s a shocking story coming out of Vallejo, California this morning about a 29-year-old woman who was allegedly kidnapped and is being held for ransom. But the details of exactly what happened are sketchy at best.
Denise Huskins, a physical therapist at Kaiser Vallejo Hospital in Northern California, was reported missing on Monday at about 2 PM by her boyfriend, Aaron Quinn. Quinn told police that at some point between midnight and 5 AM Monday morning, an intruder broke into his Mare Island home and took Denise by force, while demanding a ransom.
The intruder allegedly then took off with Denise in Quinn’s car, a white 2000 Toyota Camry, which was later found at an undisclosed location in Vallejo.
Police have not yet said why Quinn didn’t report her missing until later that afternoon, but they’ve said they are not considering him a “person of interest.”
Quinn’s next door neighbor, Dana Vandaweg, told KCBS that if there was indeed a kidnapping, she believes she would have heard something.
Denise’s father, Mike Huskins, told reporters that Denise would “not go easily” and that she would not have just let someone take her. He received a call from police on Monday and flew out to the Bay Area from LA.
Denise grew up in the Huntington Beach area and moved to Vallejo in June 2014.
Today, investigators are searching the area around Mare Island with dive teams for any signs of Denise. They have released few details about the abduction but said they are treating the case as a kidnapping for ransom.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact the Vallejo Police Department at 707-648-4524.
