Moline police are searching for a husband and father of two who went missing after celebrating a friend’s birthday at a bar in downtown Moline.
28-year-old David Harker was seen on surveillance video at 1:16 AM, leaving Twenty Sports Grille and Nightclub on Sunday, September 29. He was presumably walking to his Rock Island home, but he never made it. You can check out the stills from the video below (David is on the top right, wearing a flannel jacket and a dark grey t-shirt).
At about 3 AM, a witness apparently saw him walking down 16th Ave and 2nd St. Below is the route that David’s family believes he may have taken. This was posted on the Help Find David Harker Facebook page.
WQAD 8 is reporting that police executed a search warrant on a home this afternoon, and that the warrant is connected to David’s disappearance. They also searched a car at the residence, but no word if anything was found.
At the end of WQAD 8’s broadcast (you can watch the video in the link below), the reporter mentions that there was talk of “some kind of altercation at the bar” that night, but doesn’t give any more details. I hope this fact is elaborated on, because although it may be nothing, everything needs to be checked out. Just pure speculation here, but it could be that police have already questioned the other person who was in the altercation, and that’s whose home was searched this afternoon.
Either way, I’ll keep updating this page with any updates. Hopefully, David will be found soon and will return home to his family. His wife also spoke with reporters today, and she was in tears when she was describing how extremely out of character this is for David, and how he missed his son’s soccer game yesterday.
If you live in or around the area and can help with the searches, it looks like there is going to be another search on Tuesday morning.
David is 5’7″, and about 140 pounds. If you know anything about David’s whereabouts, you are asked to call the Moline Police Department at (309) 797-0401.
UPDATE: 10/1/13 9:08 AM
Below is a picture of David the night he went missing, according to the Help Find David Harker Facebook Page. He eventually lost the sunglasses, and put on a flannel short-sleeved shirt over the grey “Freedom” shirt.
UPDATE: 10/2/13 10:31 AM
I am so very sad to report that David’s body has been found in a river near where he was last seen. I always hate when cases end like this, and my thoughts and prayers are with David’s loved ones.
