In my first post about the murder of FSU Law Professor Dan Markel, which you can read HERE, I wrote about how 34-year-old Sigfredo Garcia was arrested and charged with first degree murder just last week.
At the time, police wouldn’t say anything about how Garcia was connected to Markel, and all documents related to the case had been sealed. There were rumors that it was a murder-for-hire plot and that more arrests were expected.
Today, everything became clearer with the release of Garcia’s Probable Cause Affidavit, and the details are shocking, to say the least.
Below are some snippets:
Pretty thorough investigation, huh?
The connection between Garcia and Markel’s ex-wife’s brother was one I wasn’t expecting.
At a news conference this morning after the affidavit had been released, Tallahassee Police Chief Michael DeLeo said Luis Rivera is currently being held in a federal correctional institution outside Orlando on unrelated charges.
When asked if he knew the whereabouts of anyone in the Adelson family, he said, “We aren’t on speaking terms.”
I think it’s quite obvious that more arrests will be made shortly.
